Richard Abel is a Junior at the University of Mary Washington and is pursuing a BA in English, with a concentration in Literary Studies. He has been performing with the chorale since 2011, and also serves as the President of the UMW chapter for Young Americans for Liberty.

Biographical Info

Beth Bullock serves as secretary for the Chorale. In addition to singing with CCF she has sung with her church choir for over twenty years. When she is not singing Beth is very active in her church. She attends two widow’s groups and enjoys working out at the gym. Beth’s lovely and talented daughter, Kendall, lives north of Boston, MA and is her mom’s biggest fan!

Biographical Info

Karen Clotfelter has been accompanying for community theater, church and school ensembles and soloists in the Fredericksburg area since moving here in 1989. She has served as the accompanist for the Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg since 2005. A graduate of Virginia Tech, her day job is with the Department of Defense. Karen and her husband are residents of King George.

Biographical Info

Jim Corrow is a retired business/technology consultant with a BA in Music Education from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN, and an MBA in Technology Management from Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, MN. Prior to his 33 year career in business, Jim was a high school choral director in North Dakota and Minnesota. He has always been an avid participant in choral music and considers himself privileged to have sung under the direction of Paul Christiansen at Concordia College and Andrew Megill with the Masterwork Chorus of Morristown, NJ. A recent Virginia resident, he is very happy to have joined the Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg.

Biographical Info

Larry Crosswell has a BS in Pure Mathematics from the Florida State University and a MAT in Math Education from The Citadel. Previously he has sung under Dr. Andre Thomas at FSU and Dr. Robert Taylor with the Charleston (SC) Symphony Orchestra Chorus. He is the accompanist for Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Stafford. In his free time he teaches high school math and AP Computer Science at Mountain View High School. He is thankful for the support of his wife and children in all of his musical adventures.

Joe Eveler has been the Choral Director at Stafford High School for twelve years. This is his twelfth season singing with the Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg as well. Joe has a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Lebanon Valley College and a master’s degree in Choral Music Education from Florida State University. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Molly, and his son, Calvin.

Biographical Info

Logan Fellenstein holds a MM in Choral Conducting from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Prior to her adventures in the deep south, Logan received her BA in Music from Bridgewater College. She is now the choir director at Eastland UMC and the facility manager at Trinity Turf, Inc. in Richmond, VA. Logan is an avid follower of all things gymnastics and Olympics related.

Biographical Info

I am a grandmother of five, and a mother of five.  My husband, Ron and I have been a part of the church music ministry for over 30 years where I have accompanied my husband’s choirs both church and school.  We currently teach music to all ages at Faith Baptist School in Fredericksburg, VA. where I teach six elementary choirs, 30 private students, and coordinate ensembles.  My education consists of BS in music education at Bob Jones University with a proficiency in piano and secondary in voice.    Thirty years of teaching experience have also proved a great education.   My teaching would include private piano and voice lessons, three levels of handbells choirs, elementary music and elementary choirs, and accompanist to our graded choir, ensemble coordinator.  I serve in our church choir and as a piano accompanist.

Biographical Info

Mr. Ron Fox has been in Christian education for thirty-one years and is presently at Faith Baptist School in Fredericksburg, Va. He has also been Music Pastor at three churches.  His main area of teaching is in music, heading both the choral and instrumental departments. His arranging and bass trombone skills allowed him to arrange, play, and produce two brass CDs featuring the Foundation Brass of Bob Jones University. Pastor Fox has been a clinician in the high school band area for events in Florida, Virginia, and North Carolina where he was also commissioned to compose a piece for the 40th Anniversary of the NCCSA Honor Band. In 2015, his choir was chosen among all public and private high schools in North Carolina to sing for the ACDA (American Choral Directors Association) Seminar.

Bonnie Johnson holds a Bachelor of Music degree in education and performance from Ithaca College and a MS in Music Education from Capital University where she specialized in Kodály. She teaches music at Conway Elementary School in Stafford. She has three children: Jamie, Christopher and Brody.

Anne Knowlton is a graduate of Duke University where she sang with the Chapel Choir and the University Chorale. She has been with the Chorale for over ten years and currently serves as alto section leader. She also sings with the St. Paul’s Masterworks Chorus in King George.

Ruth Kochenour has been with the Chorale for over twenty years and currently serves as president. She teaches music in the Spotsylvania Public Schools where she served as Fine Arts Coordinator from 2001 to 2011. She received a BS in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Masters from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Doctorate in Education from Walden University.

Cheryl Mahoney received her BA in Piano Performance from the University of Kansas and her Masters of Music in Organ Performance from the University of Nebraska. Before joining the Chorale she sang with the San Francisco Symphony Chorus and the San Antonio Symphony Chorus.

Hannah Massey received a degree in music education from Mary Washington College. When she is not keeping the accounts at her business or serving as chorale librarian she teaches private piano, serves as organist at Christ Church Spotsylvania, and performs as a founding member of the Post Oak Baroque trio. She has been with the Chorale for eighteen seasons. When not spending spare time with her children and grandchildren she enjoys reading, gardening, knitting and world travel.

Jeff Massey holds a degree in Agricultural Engineering from Virginia Tech. He is owner and operator of Morton’s BMW, purveyor of fine motorcycles in Fredericksburg. In addition to singing for eighteen years with the Chorale, he has been a long time member of the Christ Church choir in Spotsylvania. Jeff is a student of the string bass, a world traveler, a motorcyclist and a beloved father and grandfather.

Biographical Info

Laura Roberts is the Choral Director at King George High School. She is a member of the American Choral Director’s Association , the National Association for Music Education and Contemporary A Cappella Society of America. She has a Bachelor’s in Music Education from UMW. She has sung with several regional choruses including Stafford Regional Choral Society, Fredericksburg Singers, Culpeper-Piedmont Choral Society, Potomac Harmony, and various a cappella quartets.

Autumn has been a member of the Chamber Chorale for several years and is proud to currently serve as the soprano section leader. She received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Appalachian State University and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Shenandoah University. Over the years she has had the pleasure of participating in many excellent choral and opera ensembles as well as performing leading roles and solos in musical theater and opera productions. She has a wonderful husband, Daniel, and a ridiculously cute (no, she’s not biased) little boy, Evan, with whom she adores spending her free time.

Biographical Info

Roy Smith retired from the University of Mary Washington after forty years as a professor of behavioral and cognitive neuroscience. While in Fredericksburg he has been a founding member of the University of Mary Washington Philharmonic, the Fredericksburg Singers, the Chamber Chorale of Fredericksburg and the Post Oak Baroque trio. He currently serves as treasurer for the Chorale.

Biographical Info

Karen is new to Fredericksburg (about 15 months) and is glad to be here where there are so many opportunities to sing. She learned to read music since before she went to school – took piano and organ lessons for years, and always sang in church and school choirs. She took private lessons all the way through college and has sung in many community choruses in Connecticut and Pennsylvania. While living in Massachusetts she sang with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops…and now sings with CCF, JoySong, and St. Matthew’s church.

Lauren holds a B.A. in Spanish as well as M.A.T in Spanish from Christopher Newport University. Currently, Lauren teaches Spanish I, III, and IV at Mountain View High School. While attending CNU, she sang Alto I and II with CNU’s premier chamber a cappella ensemble, CNU Voices. When Lauren is not teaching or singing, she enjoys both digital and film photography.

Jeremy Vaughn received a degree in music and historic preservation from the University of Mary Washington in 2008 and currently works at his alma mater at the Jepson Alumni Executive Center. As a trained instrumentalist, he performs with numerous orchestras and wind ensembles in the Fredericksburg region, and serves as the substitute choral conductor at his church downtown. Jeremy has a wife, Adrienne, and a daughter, Penny.

Biographical Info

Ken Wayne holds a bachelors degree in music education and taught high school choir for 13 years in both Illinois and Spotsylvania County. He is currently the drama teacher at Culpeper Middle School and is finishing his thesis for a masters degree in theatre directing from Roosevelt University. Ken also enjoys being active in community theatre and is a two-time recipient of the Virginia Theatre Association’s award for Best Performance.

Jessica Wood was born and raised in Fredericksburg, VA and has been a member of the Chamber Chorale since finishing her degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance at James Madison University in 2014. She is currently in her third year of teaching choral music at Gunston Middle School in Arlington, VA.
